I guess this should be the hardest topic for any Christian, especially when crisis hits at our very doorstep.
It was because of His sovereignty that a lot of things happened to me in my life. Although I did not really know why it was allowed to happened back then. Looking back now, I know exactly why God allowed it to happened.
In Job 42:2, we learned that nothing can spoil God’s plan. And since He already planned everything, all things happened for good. Even if it means the worst thing that you can think of to happen to you. At this time, we cannot do anything but to trust Him with all our heart and lean not unto our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6; John 4:10).
So let us claim upon Isaiah 41:10 and depend on His strength to look beyond all crisis and look unto Him. Thank you Lord for giving us so many verses to claim your promises (Ps 28:6-7; John 6:37; Hebrews 12:2; Matt 6:8). Thank you Lord for saving us (John 3:16). Amen.
Today’s verse of the day is John 3:16. I remembered it as if it was yesterday, 7 years ago when I trusted the Lord. He showed me how much He loved us. To the extend of dying on the cross for us! Today, I am reminded and want to share this to people who visited my website (I doubt there’s many, I only got 1 hardcore supporter, William, who always ask me why there’s no update, :P)
I also believed that God loves me enough to save those people that are related to me. I pray and hope that you all will come to trust Him in time to come.
After a quick search on MacSword on the search phrase “be an example”. 1 Tim 4:12 came up. In all my 32 years of growing up. The one thing I think I learned that can apply to all aspect of life is “be an example”. No doubt, the Bible also teaches us this very important truth. In 1 Tim 4, Paul is writing to Timothy and warning about false teachers besides have the phrase there. Thus I read more in 1 Tim 4 and 1 Tim 6.
I cannot agree more enough to be an example to everyone around me, especially to my children in the future. I wonder how tough it is to “… be an example, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” Many a times we can remind ourselves of one attribute but definitely not all. However, thank God for His promises. 1 Tim 4:15-16 will definitely encourage any soul in trying to upkeep a good example, that including mine.
Other than finding what I want to know, I also discover about characteristic of a false teacher. A good read of 1 Tim 4 to 6 explains a fair bit of false teachers and coming of latter days.
I never would have thought that God separated kinship and priesthood so clearly. As I went through FBI and study the bible in more coverage, God just opened my eyes at the time when I needed most. Thank God for assuring me that I wasn’t speaking out of anger.
In 2 Chronicles 26:17-21, we learned that Uzziah was struck with leprosy when he suddenly went to the temple of God to burn incense. From Willington’s Guide to the Bible, we learned that
Uzziah was the 3rd and the final kind to make the fatal error of assuming the office of the priesthood. God rejected the first (Saul; 1 Sam 13:11-14), took the son of the second (Jeroboam; 1 King 14:17), here struck the third with leprosy. Page 156 F.5.
From now, I will think many many times before I start to demand to have my rights as part of the priesthood office when God do not want me to in the 1st place.
Why do we need deacons in our church? What is their role and responsibilities do they have in church and it’s governance? Interestingly, the bible mentioned in several passage of the role of a deacon. In Acts 6:1-6, the passage talked about how the apostles are not able to attend to all the things in church due to the increasing number of believers coming in. Therefore, there are a lot of new believers complaint that their needs are not attended to. So deacons are called to be dealing with physical work while the apostles concentrate on their ministering work.
In 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:6-9, it also spelled out the qualifications of a deacons. These are the few pointers by several website talking about deacon and their duties. Most of them clearly state that deacon’s duties is mainly to assist the bishop/apostles/pastor with the physical aspect of the work in a church so that they can concentrate on the spiritual aspect of work in a church.

Both are interesting read of deaconship.
As I am studying Jonah, the thoughts about repentance keeping coming back. What is repentance and how true or sincere your repentance is before God? In Jonah 2:1 - 9. I can sense repentance in Jonah’s heart. Thanking Him for saving and praising Him for his salvation.
However, as soon as he entered Nineveh, as he walked closer to reality, he began to “forget” that he repented. And as soon as he finished what God wants him to deliver, he was angry and was seeking a death wish from God. Jonah 3:1 - 4:3
We can now see easy even God’s chosen prophet can be stingy about His mercy showered upon Jonah’s hated Ninevites. And also we see how wonder and gracious God is when it comes to repentance and turning to Him.
One lesson I took from here is that God is ever there to give you His grace if you truly repents. My friends who are still outside the kingdom, I beg you, repent and turn to God.
When can I call myself a Christian? Ever wonder how people identify you as a Christian. “Going Church”, “Give thanks before meals”, “Say no to world entertainment”, “Not available on Sunday because I go church”, “Not available on Friday because I go Prayer Meeting”, “Not available on Sat because I got FBI”?
And seriously speaking, how many out there knows that I am a Christian and I am a Son of God and that I believed Jesus Christ died for my sin?
I begin to think and wonder after an event happen last Sunday. Many Christian that I know didn’t really show the Christ-likeness in them. Written in 1 Timothy 3:1-5
It talks about the qualification if a man who desires the office of a bishop. I was taught that this not only applies to anyone who desires to be a pastor, elder or deacon. This also applies to any man who desire to live right before God.
For one, I am never a good behavior (controlled) man. Everyone who knows me well enough, especially my wife, knows that I cannot control my temper. Having said that, so what good does I want to tell people that I am a Christian and yet I can’t control my temper. I realized that no matter what we do, if we want to say we fit to be a leader of sort than most likely you are not a leader.
As the world saying goes, “If you have to tell people that you can lead, most likely is that you can’t.” And certainly in my own opinion of a good leader is that he or she will be able to make logical conclusion even under emotional attack because that person is controlled enough not to let the emotional takes over what is logical.
The only thing I took home on my literature study is this:
“The world is still deceived with ornament.”
Am I an ornament… I hope not.
Wil, you ask for one long time back. So here am I updating again. After a long while, I found out that my life is consume by WoW. What is WoW? It’s a never ending story of adventure in WoW. Why am I spending so much time on WoW, because I want to level up. So why am I not WoW’ing now… Shhh, I wrote this during office hour. Haha.
My current event:
1) Find a stand for my MBP, rainDesign mStand seems to fit the requirement. However, I am still looking around to see if I can get more choices.
2) Find a keyboard that serves my gaming and ipod needs (i meant to say iPhone). Find a USB 2.0 keyboard is really a chore. So far I only have 2 candidates: Maitias and Razer.
Choices, choices, why do we have to make choices all the time. And why do product designer have to leave out 1 feature all the time. I like the extra buttons on Razer but I like the USB 2.0 feature on Matias.
Argh… I should go and design one that every Mac WoW user will buy
Okie, I spent enough time on this. Later…
This is actually my very 1st Guild outing. I never have a playing Guild and joined this Guild because my wife is there. Nice bunch of people. And the food at Botak Jones is power.
